Army College of Medical Sciences came into existence in the year 2008. It is also known as ACMS. The Army College of Medical Science facilitates the quality undergraduate medical education to wards of serving and retired Indian Army Personnel. It is a premier medical college in India, under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society. ACMS is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University New Delhi. The college is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) and has the capacity of 100 UG student admissions per year.
ACMS main objective is to undertake the responsibility of social accountability by indulging in several community-based activities and research intended to improve the existing quality of life of residents of Delhi Cantonment. ACMS is accredited as an A Medical College and admissions in the College are carried out by the University. They offer only MBBS course degree as of now.
